Give and Support
According to government figures, over 100,000 Iowa residents have some form of physical or visual disability. In addition, people with disabilities are more likely to have depression, have obesity, smoke, have diabetes, and/or have heart disease. Sports and recreation are well-known and popular methods to maintain health and wellness that many of us take for granted, but many people in our state do not have the same access to these resources. If you are able, please consider helping us to enhance quality of life for the individuals we serve.
Donations and sponsorships provide Adaptive Sports Iowa with critical and consistent revenue sources that allow the organization to build capacity and/or respond quickly to changing conditions. This type of support helps us to do what we do best: provide quality sports and recreation opportunities to individuals who need it most.
We invite you to invest in our work in ways that will position us for success throughout our next phase of growth and beyond. Your gift of any size really does make a difference!
Please Note: Your donation may be eligible for a gift matching program that could double your impact! Please check with your employer or contact us to explore next steps to increase the impact of your generous donation. For more information about matching gifts, click here.
Fundraising Events
Adaptive Sports Iowa organizes and facilitates three annual fundraising events. A fundraising event is a great opportunity for supporters to get involved and support the mission of Adaptive Sports Iowa.
These opportunities include:
Adaptive Sports Iowa hosts a Split the Pot Raffle at all Iowa Wild home games. This game-day fundraiser provides fans the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets during all Iowa Wilds home games with live raffle taking place at the end of the 2nd intermission. One lucky fan will go home with half of the net proceeds and the other half will be donated to Adaptive Sports Iowa.
This family-centered event is hosted in eastern Iowa. Teams of 3-5 individuals may sign up to play in a 3 on 3 wheelchair basketball tournament, and family and friends may come watch the games, eat at the concessions, and drop some tickets to win a raffle item. End the day by watching the winner of the tournament play against our youth wheelchair basketball team, the Grizzlies!
In the fall each year, Adaptive Sports Iowa hosts its annual Golf Classic at Legacy Golf Club in Des Moines. Teams of 4 may sign up for this best ball competition, or individuals may be paired together. The day includes lunch, drink tickets, a gift bag, golf balls, mini games, the chance to win hole prizes, networking opportunities, dinner and more!
