Goalball

Goalball is a fast paced and fun Paralympic sport designed for blind and vision impaired populations. 

Winter goalball dates include:

  • Friday, December 9, 7:30-9:00 pm at the South Suburban YMCA
  • Friday, January 12, 7:30-9:00 pm at the South Suburban YMCA
  • Friday, February 9, 7:30-9:00 pm at the South Suburban YMCA
Other rules and characteristics are as follows:
  • Games are played on a volleyball court divided into six sections
  • Games are 20 minutes, with two 10-minute halves and a 3-minute halftime
  • All team members must wear eyeshades regardless of level of blindness
  • The ball must be rolled on the floor to score, and must contact the floor before the overthrow line, or it is considered a foul throw and a penalty
